"I had the opportunity to experience the PRIZM USA Team presenting the PRIZM Game tool at a public workshop in Southern California. The 1-day innovation seminar allowed the participants to use a game based format to help a team or group of people create new or unique ideas to solve a “Quest” based on a problem, or an interesting situation. The tool uses structured idea generating cues relevant to the problem or situation and creates a process map to get to one or more solutions based on identified deficiencies in your system. One of the first parts of the divergence process is to decompose all the elements of the problem to address all aspects of it to determine what is going wrong, verses what is going right. One then goes through steps leading toward transformation of the situation with unique idea cards and then finally through a convergence step to bring all the ideas generated into a set of idea narratives.
This PRIZM Game is a great tool to help a small group of people think together in a more creative structured environment and breaks down the conventional walls of critical and rigorous thinking which seems to be prevalent in our thinking style.
